11th Five-year Plan: sets the target for land resources surveying, which includes the exploring and identifying the national sources of natural resources;
- Storage of Petrol Oil: 4 ¨C 4.5 Billion Tons
- Natural Gas: 2000 ¨C 2250 Billion m3
- Iron Cores: 2.5 Billion Tons
- Bronze Cores: 20 Million Tons
- Coal£º 100 Billion Tons
Two Rates to be achieved:
- 33% - 35% of recovery rate of the mining resources to be selected
- 5% over of the output rate of ocean industry value against GDP rate
Targets: to identify the key categories of minerals, mines geo-locations and rare mineral cores locations.
IT Driving the management of land resources
The Golden Land Project is targeting at RMB 80 billion (appx.USD1billion) generated from the geo-information industry by 2010, which will also bring about RMB500 billion ( appx. USD62 billion ) from other related industrial sectors. This Golden Land Project will build up one complete operating system for surveying the national land resources from the Space, Land and via Internet.
In June, 2007, the largest Geo-information Industry Zone was approved for the establishment in Heilongjiang Province, China by the related governmental authorities. This is the first and biggest industrial zone in China and in the world. This project proves the confidence from the Chinese Government to develop the geo-information industry from the three sectors of telecom transmission, information technology services and information content services.
